Read "Lily Plants a Garden" on page 45 from The 7 Habits of Happy Kids book by Sean Covey, and lead a discussion with the questions at the end of the story. Idea #4: Read" Sammy and the Pecan Pie by Sean Covey, and lead a discussion with the questions at the end of the story. Idea #5: Bucket Filling Lesson- Read How Full is Your Bucket by Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer or Bucket Filling from A to Z by Carol McCloud and Caryn Butzke. List examples of people who are Bucket Fillers and Bucket Dippers on the board. Discuss the differences. Use a real bucket and filler to visually show how kind words and actions can fill a bucket up ( I have a bucket and filler available to borrow). Overview: all 7 habits
Grades PreK-6- The 7 Habits
Directions: Go over the 7 Habits with your class this week, and explain each of them briefly. Go to my Leader in Me tab for a list of the Habits. You can also refer to the poster in your classroom. For younger students: Print off the 7 Habits coloring booklet below to have the students color. For older students: Print off the Seven Habits Book and have the students draw and write an example of each of the 7 habits. Click here to watch an interpretation of The 7 Habits through music.
