Learner Outcomes:
By the end of this session, students will be able to:
-identify qualities of a safe, healthy dating relationship
-discuss ways in which important features of a dating partner may also be important features in healthy friendships
-discuss parallels between dating abuse and bullying behaviors
-consider difficulties that can occur in a dating relationship and ways to address them.

Directions: Download "Dating, Relating" outline and handouts. Pick one or both activities to use in your class meeting.  The outline and handouts are combined into one document.

Teen Dating abuse

Grades 7-8
Learner Outcomes:
By the end of this session, students will be able to:
-define teen dating abuse and identify physical and psychological behaviors that can be abusive
-analyze scenarios to understand how and why a dating partner could use harmful behaviors
-discuss the difficulties of recognizing and leaving an abusive dating relationship
-identify ways they could be a helpful friend to someone in an abusive dating relationship
-identify local resources if they or someone they know needs help with dating abuse issues
