Grades K-8
Lesson Objective:
Introduce the concept of class meetings and define bullying.

RESOURCES:

Print out the first class meeting outline below and go over it during your first class meeting (preferably after our Anti-Bullying Kick Off Assembly).

Class Meeting Series #2:
ASU Prep AntiBullying Rules

Grades K-8
Lesson Objective:
Discuss the 4 anti-bullying rules and what they mean. (Don't forget our school rule #5) Use lots of examples to clarify the meaning of the rules. Students should be able to recite these rules from memory and understand how they are applied. 
(Suggested time: 4-5 Class Meetings)

RESOURCES
Use the outlines and scripts below for each anti-bullying rule.  Reinforce the rules by playing Bullying Rule Round-Up also found below.

Our School's Anti-Bullying Rules

1. We will not bully others.

2. We will help students who are bullied.

3. We will include students who are left out.

4. If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home today.

 5. We will respect others, all school property and ourselves (The Golden Rule)

Class Meeting SERIES #3:
What Bullying Looks Like


Grades K-8
Lesson Objective:
Discuss how bullying affects the student who is bullied and what the characteristics are of students who bully others.  Give examples of bullying situations or play scenarios on the Teacher Guide DVD to help students think about how it would feel to be bullied and what might be the consequences for the student who does the bullying. (Suggested Time: 1-2 Class Meetings)

RESOURCES
-Teacher Guide DVD Scenarios 1&2- grades K-3, Scenarios 3&4- grades 4-6, and scenarios 5 &6- grades 7-8 (Teachers: If you don't have the DVD come and get one from me.)

Lesson Objective:
Discuss what roles students play in bullying situations.  Use the Bullying Circle to explain how all kids are involved in bullying even if they don't do anything. 
(Suggested Time: 2-3 Class Meetings)

RESOURCES:
Use the Bullying Circle Excercise below to teach your students about the bullying circle. 
Use the Teacher Guide DVD role play scenarios 2, 3, and 5 to show the various roles in the Bullying Circle. (Teachers: If you don't have a DVD come and get one from me)
